My teacher said to use "endnotes" is this the same as a standard bibliography at the end?

For a research paper, my teacher only said to use endnotes instead of footnotes to cite, he didnt really specify beyond that. So my question is are endnotes the same as a standard Bibliography that you'd put at the end of the paper? Or is there more to it? Also if he said no footnotes I would assume that means no in-text citations? I'm just having trouble understanding the difference between endnotes, footnotes, bibliographies, and in text citations. Any help would be appreciated!
