Horse Racing Historians-Has There Ever Been An American 'Champion' Who Was Not A Brown, Bay, Chestnut,Black?

I know true white horses,dappled grays, palominos,buckskins, and other less common colors are not often seen on the race track, so with the Kentucky Derby coming up fast and yet another chance for a Triple Crown Winner, I was curious to know over the history of Horse racing in America was there ever a 'Horse of a Different Color' worthy enough to have a footnote in history.
